A fine English 18 carat gold consular cased key-wound pocket watch, Hallmarked London 1764. Gilt brass full plate movement with diamond end stone, balance cock finely engraved with acanthus leaf scrolling, English lever escapement possibly converted from a cylinder, fusee, back plate raised above four round pillars.
White enamel dial with black Roman numerals bordered by minute track, Arabic divisions at five-minute intervals, fancy rose metal hands, winding square in the dial at two o’clock. Case decorated with engraved loose scrolls and central flower to reverse, movement signed Barwise, London.
