An English gold pair-cased pocket watch with repoussé decoration, circa 1764-1780.
This timepiece boasts a gilt full plate fusee verge movement with a beautifully designed pierced and engraved balance bridge and silver regulation. The white enamel dial features Roman radial hours, an outer minutes track with Arabic five-minute numerals and a spade hand. Unfortunately, one of the pointers is missing. The watch is pair-cased, with a polished inner and a repoussé outer case. Crafted by the skilled hands of Thomas Miller, a renowned watchmaker who was active from 1764 to 1780, this watch bears his signature in script on the works: Thos Miller London, 10492. The dial is also signed: MILLER/ LONDON.
