A very valuable cylinder watch with enamel painting, made by  John Ellicott in London, England, circa 1780. This numbered open faced double cased watch was crafted from 18 (possibly 22) carat gold, both cases has London gold hallmarks from 1777 and 1784, the inner case is plain and the outer case is splendidly enamelled. The white enamel dial has Arabic five minute numerals, Roman hour numerals and Breguet steel hands. The very fine numbered Ellicott movement features a cylinder escapement and a diamond end stone.
The cuvette and movement have matching numbers and are signed.
