An English gold open faced keywound quarter repeating verge watch, circa 1780. This watch contains a verge movement with a chain fusée. It has an enamel dial with Roman radial hours, Arabic five minute divisions, outer minute divisions, and Louis XV style hands. The 18 carat gold engraved case features an applied varicoloured gold scene and a hinged case back. The movement and dial are both signed.

The movement is in working condition. The quarter repeating function is operational, but the chiming is very dull because it is not connected to the bell correctly and requires attention. The dial is intact. The case is in very good condition, with tarnished gold that is easy to clean. The paste set hands have some losses.
