Early cylinder escapement watch
–
An early cylinder watch with a very rare movement with ‘slow beat balance’, made circa 1760. The open faced Louis XV case was made from leton and is numbered. The watch has a Louis XV white enamel dial with an outer ring with black Arabic numerals for the minutes and Arabic numerals for the hours and especially beautiful gold hands. The extremely rare movement has a cylinder escapement, a so called seconds oscillator, a very slow oscillating balance with teeth and a very unusual design of the plate with floral relief.
