An English gilt open faced verge pocket watch with protective case, circa 1740. Full plate movement, verge escapement, chain and fusee, three-arm steel balance. Silver dial with Roman hours and Arabic five-minute numerals.  A black leather-coated brass protection case with stud decoration, the plain inner case with maker’s mark ID. Dial signed Haydon London, movement numbered and signed Wm Haydon London.
