Rose gold musical repeater by Louis Duchêne & Fils

A decorative Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced quarter repeating musical cylinder pocket watch, circa 1820. Bridge movement, two hammers, two gongs, cylinder escapement, three-arm ring balance, pin barrel, the musical mechanism sits under a gilt cover decorated with lines of the staff. Gilt dial with Arabic hours, an outer minute track and a central engraved, partly enamelled scene showing a shepherd with two of his flock. Plain case, reeded band. Dial signed, cuvette signed and numbered, case numbered.
