An English silver pair-cased verge repoussé pocket watch with date, circa 1690. Full plate movement, chain and fusee, three-arm brass balance, fine florally engraved and pierced balance cock. Silver outer case with repoussé decoration depicting Veturia and Volumnia before Coriolanus, the inner case is also silver, maker’s mark IMC. Silver champlevé dial with Roman hours, Arabic five-minute numerals, central decoration and an aperture for indication of the date. Dial signed, case numbered and signed Cochin, movement signed and numbered.
