A Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced hour repeating pocket watch, circa 1810-1830. The key wound movement with a verge escapement. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer minute divisions with quarter hour numerals and decorative gold hands. A plain case. Dial signed. Comes with the original key.

The Swiss watch manufacturer, Frères Bordier, was active in Geneva from around 1725. The company was founded by Denis and Isaac Bordier as Les Frères Denis et Isaac Bordier. Denis’ son, Guillaume Bordier, became co-owner, then eventually his sons, Ami and Pierre, continued the business.
