A fine English 18 carat gold hunting cased keyless chronograph pocket watch made by William Gabriel in London, London Hallmarked for 1903. The gilt ¾ plate movement with an English lever escapement, a free sprung cut and compensated bimetallic balance with gold compensation screws, blued steel duo-in-uno balance spring, diamond end stone, screwed cartouche balance jewels and an Admiralty issue engraving on the raised barrel section. Off white enamel dial with Roman hours, Arabic five minute numerals, an outermost minute and fifth of a second track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, a 60 minute counter at 12, blued steel spade hands and a center chronograph hand. The heavy polished hinged case with a monogram on the front and chronograph button at 12, stamped F.T. London for Fred Thoms, Clerkenwell. Dial signed Gabriel London, movement signed and numbered. Comes with the original fitted presentation box.
