An English 18 carat gold open faced keyless pocket watch made by W. Batty & Sons in Manchester, circa 1924. The gilt ¾ plate movement with an English lever escapement, cut and compensated bimetallic balance and diamond end stone. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel Fleur-de-Lys hands. The polished case with a monogram on the back and stamped J.R., a presentation inscription to the cuvette. Dial and movement signed, case and movement with matching numbers.
