A rare Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set pendant watch in the form of a beetle, circa 1920. The movement with a cylinder escapement, wolf’s tooth winding and plain three arm balance. Concealed white enamel dial with black Arabic hour numerals and red 12, an outer minute track and gilt spade hands. A beetle shaped case, the hinged reverse realistically cast, chased and engraved with legs and underbody texture, the wings are blue guilloché enamelled and set with diamonds, a further diamond set head with ruby set eyes and a compartment inside the back for a momento. Comes with an associated gold watch chain.
