An American 9 carat gold open faced keyless pocket watch with up & down indication made by the American Waltham Watch Company in Waltham, Massachusetts, Birmingham Hallmarked for 1922. The movement is adjusted in 6 positions, has a Swiss lever escapement and 23 jewels. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, up & down indication at 12 o’clock, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 and blued spade hands. The engine turned case with plain bezels, pendant and bow, a ribbed band and decoratively engraved vacant cartouche on the back. Dial signed Waltham U.S.A. Vanguard 23 jewels, case numbered and stamped A.L.D., movement signed and numbered.
