Gilt enamelled key wind pocket watch

An unusual and rare Swiss gilt metal and enamel open faced key wind pocket watch with a continuous automaton made by Louis Duchêne & Fils in Geneva, circa 1810. The movement with a fusee verge escapement. White enamel dial with a polychrome enamel scene depicting Cupid and Chronos in a boat, decentral time indication with radial black Arabic hours, outer minute division with 15 minute numerals, power reserve indication above 12 o’clock, a winding aperture at 4 and gilt hands. A case with enamel decoration to the reverse showing a temple scene and drinking fountain, an aperture in the upper half with automaton figures including a pair of kite fliers, a musician with two dogs and a further figure leading a dog. Dial signed.
