An English 18 carat gold pair cased key wind pocket watch made by Justin Vulliamy in London, London Hallmarked for 1785. The gilt full plate movement with a cylinder escapement, pierced balance cock engraved with foliate scrolls, diamond end stone and silver regulation with serpent tongue indicator. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals and gilt spade hands. Both the inner and outer case are polished. Movement signed, case stamped W.O. Comes with the original winding key.

Justin Vulliamy, born in Switzerland around 1712, was working in London in the late 1730s. He married the daughter of clockmaker Benjamin Gray in 1741 and worked with him as a partner till 1764, when he succeeded him. His son Benjamin Vulliamy was his partner around 1780. He died in 1797.
