An American steel open faced military chronograph pocket watch, model 23, made by Hamilton Watch Co. in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, circa 1942. The Swiss lever escapement with 19 jewels, a cut and compensated bimetallic balance, column wheel chronograph, and adjusted to heat and three positions. Black enamel dial with white Arabic hours, an outer white minute track with fifth of a second divisions and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, a 30 minute register at 12, white spade and syringe hands, and a white center chronograph hand. The brushed and polished case with a screw-down back engraved AN 5742-1 MFR’S PART NO. 37297. Dial signed, case and movement signed and numbered, the cuvette additionally signed Keystone.
