An English 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating key wind pocket watch, belonging to General Sir William Richards, made by Hamlet in London, London Hallmarked for 1777. The gilt full plate movement with a duplex escapement, plain three arm balance, diamond end stone and hammers striking on two gongs. Gilt dial with applied gilded Roman hour numerals, gilt outer dot minute divisions, a decorated border, guilloché engraved center, engine turned subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gilt spade hands. The engine turned case with a foliate engraved band, pendant and bow, and push repeat through the stem. Dust cap signed, movement numbered and marked London, case numbered. Comes with a Decommissioning Certificate for Colonel William Richards and two winding keys.
