A fine English 18 carat gold open faced pocket chronometer, London datemark for 1777. Gilt chain fusée movement, Arnold spring detent escapement with the detent set into the top plate, bimetallic OZ balance with compensation weights, blued steel helical spring with diamond endstone. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Plain case, stamped with casemaker’s mark ‘WE’. Movement signed and numbered.
