A fine and large French 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating chronograph pocket watch made by Lipmann in Besançon, circa 1910. Sold by M. Tripet in Toulouse on May 23rd, 1910, to Auguste Chalon for 425 Francs.The keyless wind frosted gilt movement, ∅ 43 mm, with 19 jewels, a straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, centrifugal governor and an index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. White enamel dial with black Arabic hour numerals, inner red Arabic 24 hours, an outer minute track, outermost fifth of a second divisions with Arabic five minute indexes, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and original gold spade hands. A polished case, of which both covers feature the foliate engraved monogram AC, with an olive shaped button at 2 for the chronograph and a hinged gold cuvette. Case numbered. Accompanied by the original Bulletin de Marche and receipt.
