The white enamel dial shows black Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and ornate gold Louis XV style hands. It is signed GRAND PRIX UTI LONDRES 1908. The front crystal glass has small chips. The timepiece is housed in a round 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case. UTI (short for Utinam) was a prestigious French watchmaking manufacturer and luxury distributor founded around 1906 by Georges Meyer in Besançon, the historic heart of French horology. The firm quickly earned an elite international reputation by winning the coveted Grand Prix at the Franco British Exhibition in London in 1908 for its exceptional mechanical accuracy and quality. This milestone is proudly stamped on your watch’s dial. Highly regarded for its refined craftsmanship and elegant designs, UTI later became a key supplier and collaborator for legendary Parisian high jewellery houses such as Van Cleef & Arpels and Boucheron.
