A splendid French silver open faced quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1637. Early verge movement with mock pendulum, cage decorated with birds and tendrils, repeating hours and quarter hours, ornamented barrel drum. Dial with white enamel cartouches with blue Roman numerals on chased and engraved ground, iron hands. Pierced case with tendrils and birds. Movement signed.
