Leda is a figure from Greek mythology. She is the wife of the Spartan king Tyndareus. Leda is known by the story of Leda and the Swan. Zeus was in love with her, but could not convince here to have intercourse, he turned himself into a swan and overwhelmed Leda. Ashamed of what had happened, Leda had intercourse with her husband that night and after nine months they had children, who came from an egg according to some traditions. Pollux and Helen were the children of Zeus, Castor, and Clytemnestra of Tyndaeros.
