Silver chronometer in mahogany box

An extremely rare English silver open faced deck chronometer in a mahogany box made by John Roger Arnold in London, circa 1804. The full plate movement with chain and fusee, a spring chronometer escapement according to John Arnold, Z balance with two weights and two screws, free swinging, blued cylindrical balance spring with end curves on both sides, finely florally engraved balance cock and chatoned diamond endstone on balance. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and spade hands. The plain case with maker’s mark TH for Thomas Hardy. Dial and movement signed, dial, case and movement with matching numbers.
