Important English pocket chronometer,  James Hatton London, circa 1800-1851.
An 18 carat gold, later especially for the movement made case with English hallmarks from 1851, matching number 377 on the case and movement, early English Chronometer movement with spring detent escapement, helical hairspring, special bimetallic chronometer balance with trapezoidal and round weights, signed and numbered plate.
Original enamel dial with golden hands, sign and number in very good condition, excellent condition.

James Hatton was a London chronometer watchmaker from 1799 to 1815. According to our research, this chronometer pocket watch belongs to the earliest chronometer of James Hatton, which is extremely rare. The number 1351 was auctioned in Geneva in 2002 for 15,000 Swiss francs.
