Gold and enamel verge with protective outer case

A Swiss gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch with calendar and glazed protective outer case, circa 1780. Unusual slim full plate gilt fusee movement, pierced and engraved bridge cock with polished steel coqueret, plain three-armed gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, polished steel regulator, broad index engraved on the plate. Convex white enamel dial with black Arabic hours and quarters, fine gold Breguet hands, central date calendar with red Arabic numerals and large blued steel hand. Consular case, the back with gilt decorated white border, fine oval polychrome enamel scene of a lady with a boy and dog in a formal garden on translucent blue enamel, gold bow and numbered pendant marked PIG, gilt metal hinged frame glazed on the back to protect the enamel.
