A Swiss silver open faced centre seconds duplex pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1850. Keywound gilt bar movement with richly engraved plate, bridges and suspended going barrel, polished steel regulator, blued steel stop work and screw, polished steel three-armed balance with three blue steel affixes, spiral hairspring, steel crab tooth duplex escape wheel allowing the hand to beat seconds. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, centre seconds and blued steel hands. Plain case, sprung gilt cuvette, silver oval pendant and bow.
