Unique Dutch silver pair-cased verge watch with enamel painting, date and mock pendulum, circa 1730. Typically decorated Dutch verge movement for the time around 1730, signed plate, extensively decorated, silver verge bridge with a relief scene depicting a putto in front of an altar with a total of four hearts, including the slogan Unseul Me Suffit (One is enough), kidney-shaped aperture for the mock pendulum, beautifully decorated pillars, silver decorations. Signed silver champlevé dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, central relief with a putto, date aperture, original hour hand, minute hand replaced. The outer case with a fine enamel painting on the back, a Dutch scene, the inner case with maker’s mark M (with crown).
