William Gib William Gib was originally from England who began working at 2, Blaak, in Rotterdam around 1699 and was later “hooftman” (principal) of the St. Eloys Guild. Gib married Anna Romilius around 1700; he was first mentioned in the city’s municipal records on October 9, 1700, when a child of his was baptised. Most of Gib’s clocks show strong English influences. He died in 1732.
