Gold chronometer in ‘Cabriolet’ pair cases

Exquisite English 18 carat gold pocket chronometer made for the Ottoman market, circa 1850. Three quarter plate movement, screwed gold chatons, plate signed and numbered, pivoted detent chronometer, key winding, Breguet gold key with ratchet. Four colour gold dial with Ottoman numerals and floral decoration, subsidiary seconds, also Ottoman inscribed, finest steel hands. Rare engine turned à goutte ‘Cabriolet’ pair cases, the inner case is rotatably mounted in the outer case and therefore the watch can be worn as a hunting case watch or Lépine. Cuvette inscribed: chronometer.
