Silver verge watch with enamel painting by Johann Anton Hegglin
–
A unique Swiss silver pendant watch with the enamel painting Mary with the Jesus Child, circa 1687. Early verge movement with enamelled verge bridge and the finest enamel painting, a scene visible through glass insert in the case. Silver dial with Roman hours, an inner minute track and Arabic quarter-hours, extraordinary brass hands. An unusual case form, both sides set with jewels, among them also diamonds, emeralds and rubies. Comes with the, presumably, original key set with jewels. Movement signed.
