A very fine French 18 carat gold, enamel and stone-set open faced quarter repeating verge pocket watch, circa 1780. Verge movement, repeating the hours and quarter hours on a bell. White enamel dial with Arabic hours and outer minute divisions, probably original hands. Case engine-turned on the back, translucent blue enamel, set with stones, very fine sound openings, bell. Comes with a fire-gilt chatelaine with figure relief and musical instruments.
