A historically interesting Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased lever pocket watch, circa 1852. Technically very interesting and very early Patek Philippe precision lever movement with the first version of the crown winding invented by Adrien Philippe, French patent No. 1317 of April 22nd, 1845, wolf’s toothing, extraordinary large and very special moustache compensation lever with ring-shaped ends. Cuvette Invention Brévetée de Patek Philippe & Co à Genève. Screwed white enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, unusual positioned subsidiary seconds at 8, steel filigree Breguet hands. Engine-turned case, spring lid with very fine engraved coat of arms. Case and movement numbered, cuvette signed and numbered, case and movement with matching numbers.
