Silver open faced chronometer by Barraud

A highly interesting English silver open faced pocket chronometer, hallmarked London 1851. Gilt full plate movement, key winding, screwed chatons, chain/fusee, formed pillars, spring detent chronometer in the manner of Thomas Earnshaw, heavy type Pennington gold/platinum screw balance, free-swinging blued helical balance, diamond endstone. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, gold hour hand, replaced minute hand. Plain case with gold hinges, case maker’s punch GH for George John Hammon. Case numbered, dial and movement signed and numbered.
