A high-quality Swiss 18 carat gold verge pocket watch with striking mechanism and Jacquemart figure automaton, circa 1820. Verge escapement, repeating the hours and quarter hours, the front with central white enamel dial, Arabic hours, outer minute divisions and gold-coloured figure automaton on translucent dark blue enamel, blued steel Breguet hands. The case back engine-turned, blank cartouche, case maker’s mark AH, serrated band. Comes with the original key.
