The Geneva manufactory was founded as a partnership between Philippe Samuel Meylan and Isaac Daniel Piguet at 45 Rue Rousseau in Geneva and lasted until 1828. The company specialized in the production of sophisticated musical watches as well as automaton clocks and mechanically moving animals such as singing bird boxes, bird cages with singing birds in gold, enamelled or gem-set cases. The most beautiful pocket watches for the Chinese market were made there. The complicated pocket watches from Piguet & Meylan, decorated with polychrome enamel paintings were among the finest that were available in this area at that time.
