An early, large and highly interesting English silver pair cased verge pocket watch with alarm, circa 1740-1750. Early English verge movement. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, central alarm disc, blued steel hands. Pierced and engraved case, cartouches with different animal motifs on both sides, the back with rotating disc for closing the winding holes, bell. cuvette signed, movement signed and numbered. Accompanied by the probably original curved brass key. In working order.
