A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel hunting cased lever pocket watch made for the Ottoman market, circa 1830. Bridge movement, early lever escapement, shock absorber, temperature compensation. Florally engraved cuvette. White enamel dial with Ottoman numerals, green enamelled with gold surrounding, a painted enamel floral scene in the centre, gold hands. Case multi-coloured enamelled on both sides, the front with polychrome enamel scene depicting a mosque, in the background the sunrise, in the foreground a river landscape, surrounded by a white enamel rim with engine turned red flames, the latter surrounded by green enamel, each flame set in gold, the back with a polychrome enamel bouquet of flowers, the rim, pendant and bow also enamelled on both sides, in the pendant a split pusher to open both spring lids. Cuvette signed and numbered.
