Signed: Jeremia East Fecit
–
The signature to this watch reads ‘Jeremia East Fecit’ and is more than likely that of Edward East’s brother Jeremy – who sometimes signed himself ‘Jeremie East Fecit’ – and not Jeremiah East who was working later and is recorded as having served his apprenticeship between 1653 and 1661. Jeremy East was admitted to the Clockmakers’ Company in 1640.
Signed: Jeremia East Fecit
