A very rare, extremely flat French 18 carat gold and enamel open faced cylinder pocket watch, circa 1830-1840. Movement intact, rare Bagnolet calibre with cylinder escapement, engraved flowers on the plate,  key-winding via a special key on the square. Original silver dial with Roman numerals, engraved with floral ornaments in the centre and Breguet hands. Splendid engraved case, enamelled cathedral scene on the back, a lady playing music instrument in the foreground. Case and movement with matching numbers.
