A French 18 carat gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1780. Verge movement. White enamel dial with Arabic hours and outer minute divisions, later steel hands. Case with multi-coloured enamelled rims on both sides, painted enamel scene with raised contours on the back, opening of the spring lid bezel by a button in the pendant. Movement signed.
