An exquisite, early English 22 carat gold pair cased quarter repeating repoussé verge pocket watch, circa 1724-1744. Very fine, decorated movement, verge escapement, repeating the hours and quarter hours on a bell. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, rare gold hands. Repoussé outer case, fine sound openings, high relief mythological scene, the inner case pierced, floral tendrils and cartouche with girl’s portrait, bell. Signed and numbered cuvette and movement. Comes with a matching gold key.
