Silver coach clock with self strike and alarm by Samual Toulmin

A very fine English silver open faced quarter repeating coach clock with hour self strike and alarm, circa 1757-1783. Decorated, highly complicated fire-gilt full plate movement, cock with grotesque face, verge escapement. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes and blued steel hands. Case florally pierced and engraved on both sides, the back with three winding holes, inscribed clasps: Going, Striking and Alarm, the bottom with a small opening to release the repeater by pulling the cord, bell. Movement signed and numbered.
