Oignon watch with winding through the dial by Bartholony
–
An early, extra-large French single-handed oignon pocket watch with early winding through the dial, circa 1695. Very early French verge movement, very steep fusee, Egyptian pillars with silver heads, silver balance bridge with angel motif, silver regulator disc. Dial with enamel cartouches, Roman hours and presumably original hands. A magnificent case, decorated with numerous animal motifs, the inside gilt. Movement signed.

Interesting is the combination of a single-handed oignon, which already has the decentral winding through the dial. This version existed only about five years from 1695-1700, the case quality is absolutely unusual and also very rare.
