An 18k pink gold Swiss open faced watch, circa 1908 retailed by Gondolo & Labouriau, Rio de Janeiro, chronometro gondolo. 20” gilt movement with gold wheels, cam-wheel regulator, 18k gold cuvette.
White enamel dial, Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Guilloché hinged case.
Case and movement signed by maker, dial and cuvette signed by maker and retailer. With Extract confirming sale with guilloché case in 1908.

Watches made by Patek Philippe for the illustrious Brazilian firm of Gondolo & Labouriau are prized as some of the best examples of the high-quality watches from the turn of the last century.Watches made for Gondolo are characterized by movements bearing cam-wheel regulators and 9k gold gear train wheels. The central bridge of these Gondolo watches is frequently engraved ‘Pat. Jan 13, 1891’, which refers to the American patent for this type of wheel-train bridge.
