A Swiss gold and enamel open faced keyless lever presentation watch, circa 1908. This watch features a gilded movement with a lever escapement and a bimetallic compensation balance. The dial is also gilded and includes an enamel outer minute chapter, enamel Arabic medallions, and a central polychrome enamel depiction of Father Time over an engine turned background. It has a 14 carat gold engine turned case with a monogrammed cartouche. The engraved cuvette bears the dedication: Die Stadt Hamburg a/s ihren hochverehrten Herrn Bürgermeister ID. Rautenstrauch für treu geleistete Dienste vom 17.VIII.1903-15.11.1908, which translates to (The city of Hamburg to its esteemed Mayor Rautenstrauch for faithfully performed services from 1903 to 1908). It is numbered 26972 and comes with a chain.
