This watch is a particularly interesting piece, as it is customized especially for Dr. Baptista de Queirós, Ceará, as a gift of gratitude from Vicente de Castro. His name appears on the dial where the Patek Philippe signature would normally be, and as such, the maker’s name is curved over the subsidiary seconds instead. The monogram ‘BQ’ is also engraved on the case back, which is confirmed on the Extract from the Archives. One can imagine that Mr. de Castro was a thankful patient of Dr. de Queirós. Interestingly, there is an avenue in Ceará, Brazil named after a Vicente de Castro today.

Signed: Patek Philippe
