A fine and rare Swiss 18k pink gold open faced perpetual calendar minute repeating watch with moon-phases, circa 1887. Movement with 21 jewels, 18k pink gold cuvette. White enamel dial, Roman numerals, Louis XVI style hands, four subsidiary dials for month and day in French, seconds combined with date and aperture for moon-phases. Guilloché case back with engraved monogram within a cartouche. Case, dial and cuvette signed and numbered. With certificate of Origin confirming monogram dated 1889, original presentation box, additional crystal, hairspring.

During the 1880’s Patek Philippe increased its production of highly complicated movements to cater to the new wealth being generated in the Western hemisphere.During the core years of the Gilded Age a fine watch was a sign of distinction and status. Highly complicated with a massive case and exquisite presentation box, this watch is an ideal example of one of the most complicated Patek Philippe watches made at the end of the 19th century.
