A fine and rare American 14 carat gold triangular keyless lever Masonic pocket watch, circa 1930. The case back is centred with a depiction of Solomon’s Temple surrounded by Masonic symbols, the eye of Providence above, the front bezel is decorated with Masonic tools. A midnight blue dial with applied gold Masonic symbols for the hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five minute numerals and gold Breguet hands. Rhodium plated movement with 15 jewels, a straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring and micrometer regulator. Case, dial and movement signed.

The Eye of Providence or the All Seeing Eye of God is a figure that depicts an eye, often enclosed in a triangle surrounded by rays of light or glory, meant to represent divine providence (God’s intervention in the Universe) whereby the eye of God watches over humanity. The Eye of Providence is a widely recognized symbol, giving it instrumentality in the fields of iconography (a branch of art history that studies the identification, description and interpretation of the content of images) and semiotics (the systematic study of sign processes and meaning making). The triangle was a long standing symbol of the Christian Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but it is frequently connected with the Freemasons and the Illuminati (a secret group of elite individuals allegedly seeking to control global affairs) too. It also features the reverse of the American one dollar bill as well as the Great Seal of the United States.

Solomon’s Temple, also known as the First Temple, is a temple in Jerusalem believed to have existed between the 10th and 6th centuries BCE. Its presumed existence is largely based on narratives in the Hebrew Bible, in which it was commissioned by the King Solomon of the biblical legend before being destroyed during the siege of Jerusalem by King Nebuchadnezzar II of the Neo Babylonian Empire in 587 BCE. King Solomon was a monarch of ancient Israel and the son and successor of David, according to the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament.
