A rare gold enamel full hunter case non magnetic pocket watch according to Paillard’s patent, made by the Non Magnetic Watch Co. in New York, United States of America, circa 1889. The heavy high quality full hunter case of this watch was crafted from 14 Carat gold, is numbered, enamelled on both sides and has a monogram. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with Roman numerals for the hours, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock and especially beautiful steel hands. The very rare non magnetic numbered movement has gold chatons, a fine adjusting device, a balance and hairspring according to Paillard’s patent.

The Non Magnetic Watch Company was based in Geneva, Switzerland. The company had its headquarters in the Mont-Blanc complex in Geneva. The Geneva Non Magnetic Watch Company was later reorganized under the “Non-Magnetic Watch Co. of America” name in 1888, with operations based in New York City. The Non Magnetic Watch Company was founded to produce watches that were resistant to magnetic fields. They held patents related to non magnetic watch technology and produced both Swiss made and American made pocket watches.
