A very fine and rare, large Dutch 22 carat gold pair cased repoussé pocket watch with date and gilt brass and shagreen outer protective case, circa 1732. Gilt full plate movement with large divided fancy pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel balance with flat balance spring, single footed cock with streamers, finely pierced and chased backplate furniture, silver regulation dial. Gold champlevé dial with Roman numerals, inner half hour divisions, outer minute track with five minute Arabic numerals, signature cartouche and date aperture in the center, original blued steel beetle and poker hands. Gilt metal and shagreen protective case, repoussé outer case with very finely chased scene of three musicians and a Roman warrior within a classical landscape, scroll borde, four outer cartouches each containing a putto playing a musical instrument, scrollwork between, the inner case plain polished, master mark PH, deep back. Dial and movement signed, movement and both cases numbered 761, inner case with London hallmarks for 1732 .

This watch is a particularly fine and large example of an early 18th century repoussé cased watch retaining the original gold dial. The movement and both cases are numbered and the inner case with English hallmarks for 1732.
